Not a question I'd normally ask re Le Mans but for Classic I'm taking the wife camping and as she's already moaning I need to know if I should take her beyond Dover or not..
What do you guys reckon?
Dave.

It should be alright, as long as you're on a decent campsite (i.e. with good drainage) and have covered grandstand seats. I'm taking our eldest for his first trip to La Sarthe.. Thankfully Mrs eps would never want to go and definitely not camping either!!

Showers still forecast and around 21c. I'm hoping it doesn't move to heavier rain but the sun comes out and it warms up a couple of degrees, at least that's what I'm telling my wife - that and the offer of a weekend with many shopping opportunities (in the village and OK, with a slight automotive bias), good company (fortunately in a group with wives) and lot's of fine french wine. If all else fails, the weather is no worse than at home and it gets us out of the house!
Good luck, CMD

I'm south west of Paris at the moment and it's been 30 degrees plus and then a bloody great storm. Very humid and sticky, I hope it stays like this as its not too bad. 2yrs ago the Classic was almost too hot, this year it will be cooler with higher chances of showers, but as long as it stays as showers and not all day rain it'll be fine and the storms/showers clear the air and freshen it up .. . . not always a bad thing.

Camping in the wet at Le mans is never that bad due to the sandy nature of the soil = very little mud.

Well I can tell you it was propper pishing down last night.
My mate's 5 litre Chimaera just cut out infront of me on the motorway to AbeviLle.
She came back to life but for a while there I had visions of getting my multi meter out of the boot to start fault finding in the dark & rain.
It currently grey & overcast but no rain as such.
Right I'm off to complete the last leg to Le Mans, let's hope that rain hold off today.
