Exhaust Manifold Gaskets

Do they sound normal?
My local Motor Factor came up with some like that a little while ago when I asked them to order me a set. Didn't last very long but I think that was more down to the manifold flanges being distorted, letting the escaping hot gasses burn the gasket away. The more usual construction is a grey fibrous material, the better quality ones having a metal "flame ring". Right hand ones in photo. Genuine Ford tend to have the three gaskets each side joined together.
Thanks Philpot, that's what I was expecting to see. Only problem is, I have had trouble finding somewhere that sells them.
I'll fit the ally ones and see how I get on. Can't be any worse than it is since I bought it. Previous owner got it MOT'd, and they gave an advisory on the leaking manifold gasket.
I would have expected a fail with a leak??
Can you advise where you got the gaskets in the photo from?
Thanks

Finally got round to buying some exhaust manifold gaskets (plus a few other things). Bit surprised to see they were just sheet alloy (or aluminium) with a small groove around the opening?
Do they sound normal?
They are the ones I fitted after I replaced my (cracked) exhaust manifold in Feb.Do they sound normal?
I used a good coat of exhaust sealing compound (Firegum) on both sides of the gaskets, and I've had no probs for over 2000 miles since, including laps of Spa & the Ring on a hot May weekend
Immediately after assembly, just run the engine (no load) for a short time until hot, then re tighten manifold bolts, and leave sealant to cure/harden.
Worked ok for me.
I still feel the best gaskets are the fibre based aluminium faced ones with a steel flame ring seal. If you can find them.

ETA Ensure the mating faces of manifold & head are as flat & true as possible before assembly.
