Bought a 997.2 last week (woohoo!) which has VTS fitted.

I can see me forgetting to pick the fob up quite easily. Are there any purpose-made pouches for those fobs to attach to a keyring? I'm not worried about the keys being stolen as they're kept in a safe when not in use.

This has a pouch at the front which I use for the VTS tag.

Porsche insurance only charge me £20 a year more, if the VTS is disabled. It makes life easier and cheaper

Mine goes in my wallet, which lives in a different pocket to my keys. I would never, ever put the fob in the litte key pouch with the key that Porsche offer, that's just asking for trouble IMHO.

..I found the best way not to forget it, was to leave the fob in the ashtray... biggrin

That's what I use albeit the 997 key only just fits within the pocket.

Just asking an obvious question. Is it such a good idea to attach the tag to the key?

Lose the key, you've lost the lot! Your insurance company then asks you why the fob's in the same place as the key - and you aren't.

Exactly my point. My brother does it with his CR keys, and I berate him for it every time.

Fits great in the little side pocket in most jeans, wear the same pair for every drive and you're sorted.

.. Joking aside, the little pocket in your jeans is perfect for the fob, I have lost count of how many time I have got half way down the drive and got texts and a phone call when I forgot it, easy if you dont drive it every day tho', don't even think about putting it on your key ring.. that's almost as bad as having an address tag on it and a picture of your car P'n'J..!

+1 for the wallet. This has the extra benefit of being called to let you know you have forgotten your wallet too! hehe
