Front speakers
Discussion
I'm looking to upgrade all of the sounds system, part of which is getting rid of the old burnt out pioneers. Ive been reading I need a shallow depth front speaker, but will these squeeze in the cutouts, if not perfectly can I still get away with these?

Yeah thanks, I have read through them already its just there is some conflicting info in there which I wanted to clear up.
Some people say the pioneers are 6.5" items yet the opening might only be around 125mm which is small for that speaker size?
I think the depth of these vibes is fine at 44mm but I was hoping that the mounting diameter of 143mm might also just about fit?

Any one tried these out or have a recommendation on what to replace the OEM Pioneer ones with?Vibe slick 6 coaxial. 6.5" /16.5cm

Not that I use the stereo, but I've just retrimmed the doors in black Alacantra and putting old, scratched and bashed up Pioneers back in seems a waste :-)

I've just fitted these based on recommendations and they were fine and sound great.

I think the mounting diameter of the speakers that you are looking at may be too big without some door card modification
Hope this helps,

Many thanks for the advice and recommendation - any preferred UK supplier you bought them from?
Thanks again

I went down the jl audio root the are 6.5 components
With 18mm spacers but because the doors are sealed I removed the panel right behind the speaker to alow it to breath
Then made a HUD out of dynomat fixed to the back of the door card leaving it open at the bottom
These speakers are very expenceive and they need an amp
But they are very very very good

when i was looking i was told vibe wasnt a good make , also those fusions are way to cheap, your not gonna get a decent sound for that price in such a noisy bassy car , take your car to sextons or call them and ask their advice, i m confident they would advise something that would be deserving of your supercar, i wish i had.

£37.99 from incar_tech on eBay and delivered the next day. Haven't wired them in yet but they look great (and look super slim) so should do the trick perfectly - thanks again

Just to update that the Vibe slick 6 fit perfectly and look great (*my opinion but I've attached some shots). Not that I use the stereo, but I've just retrimmed the doors in black Alacantra and putting old, scratched and bashed up Pioneers back in seems a waste :-)

The speakers have screw mounts for both 4 settings, and 3 settings (the same as the Cerbera doors) so I went for the 3 setting, used the same holes as the OEM Pioneer ones and didn't bother with the covers as the speakers look like top end audiophile ones in their standard green state ;-)
Also re-trimmed the whole door in Black Alcantara myself (not bad for someone who's never done this before) and the trick is to buy a can of spray adhesive (I used Ultratape Spray Adhesive) and spray the fibreglass pieces with it before putting on the newly cut-to-pattern pieces of material.
Anyway, a picture says a thousand words, so here's three of them
the only poblem with notcovering them is u or a passenger will at some point put ur foot through them. mine has got some cheapy plastic fronted speakers that came with the car and i have accidently smashed the plastic parts to bits getting in and out over time. ur door cards do look great tho, time well spent.
