Car passed its Peter Morgan inspection with only a few minor items showing up all of which are going to be sorted prior to pick up. I checked quickly before committing re insurance costs and now need to get some more quotes. It's an X50 running about 500 bhp, updated bigger caliper brakes, sports exhaust and updated suspension. Any recommendations where to go based on recent quotes? I will probably limit mileage to 5,000 p.a. and it will be garaged over night
Thanks
Craig

Gary Moulson at Keith Michaels insures mine, all mods declared. He can be hard to get hold of but it was worth it!

I'm with Chaucer, mods declared (I have a fleet policy with them, so both cars are insured with them).

Just had the most surprising of discussions with my current insurer (Admiral multicar policy). I am swapping my Boxster for an A5 so sorted that and then thought I'd check on the 996TT with full disclosure of modifications and the policy is £10.37 more than I am currently paying for my standard M3! The only change is dropping the mileage from 8k to 5k per annum. I'm completely gobsmacked!

I know that most companies don't charge any more whether it us 5000 miles or 9999 miles - worth asking the question because it certainly was with Chaucer before

The difference was minor, but 5k -> 6K would have cost me £30 for the year (for my other car, not the Porsche). Since it has 6k mile service intervals I'll probably increase mine to 6K when it's due in Sept - although given the constant rain, I think I'll do under 5k miles this year anyway.

Keith Michaels were wildly off pace for my Cayman. Impreza's and other Jap stuff they seem great for... Having said that, they are top company with great customer service, so definitely worth a punt.

Similar mods with Henderson Taylor. Very competitive. Second year in a row.

You need more power then your insurance is cheaper - remember your px in my car
