Can't reply to own thread

Hi

i joined the forum yesterday and started a thread.

It understandably got moved to speed, plod and the law. However as i am a new member i can not reply to post in that part of the forum.
Is there anyway i can reply to it? i dont want for it to appear that i have abandoned it, or will i have to wait the 14 days till i can reply?
