Is the amount of diesel the chap infront of me put in his range rover sport.
This would get about 150 miles in my car because it weighs the same as his spare wheel but this little fuel in a car that big would surely only see him to the garage down the road or are these things pretty efficient?
I also cant work out why such an odd figure unless it was already just about full and he was simply topping it up.

He probably stopped fuelling up and ran to pay when he realised there was a weirdo staring at him while he filled up.

Maybe he was skint.
I put only £6 in the car yesterday. But that was because I was an idiot and found myself caught with the fuel warning light on while my wallet was residing on the kitchen table back home... had to rummage all over the car to pay for the fuel in small change...

Might be selling it. No point filling up then.
Or, he may be one of those folks that always runs around with a near empty tank.

Maybe he was setting off on a long journey and brimming the tank. Saves stopping at rip off services.

I was getting strange looks earlier in the year when I put 5 euros in my friends M6... but if I didn't put it in I was going to run out of fuel altogether so I needed to put something in and then find somewhere to park up. I felt a proper knob paying for the fuel in loads of 20 and 50 cent coins that were in the ashtray for parking meters and road tolls as well

Chucklehead said: Or it was a courtesy/hire car he was returning Have done this so many times, fill up at last cheap service station then top up at nearest (but rip-off) station to the hire place. Also stuck £6-10 in the RX-8 a few times when it was up for sale. Have once or twice stuck £5-10 in when I'm on fumes but it's an expensive station (and I know it's cheaper at the one I have to go past to get home).
