Pretty optimistic. Maybe they just finished pricing up their Astons and Rolls in the showroom and took a punt at the price. biggrin

People that have been storing them will start showing up in the classifieds trying to make a few quid... Shame frown

The less cars around the better the market. If cars don’t appreciate, they depreciate. Which situation would you rather have? (As an owner). wink

TVR prices have been creeping up over the last few years, especially for the better cars. However I fail to see why yet another load of guff from Smolenski would have any effect at all. Ignore it and get on with enjoying you car I say.

If you look at other makes in the same situation, the thing that hurts value the most is lack of spares. I'm not knocking the MGB but the price does not reflect the quality of car so much as the support it gets.

There's going to be spares available for the car for the foreseeable apart from one or two specialist items which might well be worked around. So I would see the prices remaining stable. Whether they'll go up or not is not something I'd like to guess about.

What also pushes up prices of s/h cars is the willingness of dealers to get their hands dirty on them. They will push up prices and the fewer cars are around, which is happening on a daily basis, the more likely a dealer will buy one.

Any car (or house) is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it, if after a few months it hasn't sold the option is always there to drop the price a few thou.

Not rocket science.

They've been shut for nearly six years now so I don't think the recent news is anything significant in the market, as they've been a declining resource since then.
