I know this is a bit off topic but I'm looking to change my Disco 3 daily runner. It seems a lot of us Aston owners have a Land / Range Rover in our fleet. With 5 kids we've always needed a seven seater but my eldest daughter is about to leave the nest and my 16 year old rarely comes out with the rest of us. Always off doing her own thing and will be driving herself soon! So it seems we'll now get away with only 5 seats. We do have a Labrador to ferry around occasionally. My OH really likes the Evoque 5 door dynamic as do I but I do wonder if it will be big enough in terms of luggage space. The alternative is a RR sport which certainly has the space and is probably more practical but doesn't have quite the same appeal and higher running costs. I know Di has an Evoque, does anyone else? Don't want another Disco. I realise it's all very subjective and everyone's needs are different but I'd like to hear the views of anyone who's had either.

I've got a RRS TwinTurbo V8 and it's a fantastic everyday vehicle.I have done approx 50k. Miles in it during the past 12 months, it's very comfortable on long trips(I commute to Brussels and back most weeks). It's quick, will cruise at 110 all day. It's good off road despite to road tyres, will take our three labs in the back with no problem it averages 25 mpg. Great goodie list too
I am loath to say it but f I had to have only one car it would have to be the RRS

My wife has a 2010 RRS Supercharged, a dog guard and a Husky. Awesome car and she loves it. So fracking capable and over 500 Hp. She has looked at trading it for a full fat RR recently only because the second row is getting a bit tight with our eldest knocking on 18, but the word seems to be that that both the full fat and sport RRs are to be replaced pretty soon (early next year?), so she has decided to wait until then. The new FFRR is also rumored to have 3 rows of seats, if so that's definitely a plus in favor of the FF. We did have a cursory look at an Evoque, but the trunk didn't look anywhere near dog capable - nice car for our son she thought.

Hobsons choice IMO. Neither, unless you live in Cheshire and wear a Brite-bling. Awful to the last chrome plated wheel nut. Why not consider an A6 Esate.

I've had vogues and love them but have had a disco 4 sdv6 HSE for almost 2 years now and must say the 4 is a better all round car than the vogue. It's not a special granted but for the odd occasion you need to lug crap and family stuff it's great. The 4 is a much nice car than the 3 and much cheaper to run than a rr.
Must agree that the new a6 avant 3.0 tdi is an great car and I'm looking changing my disco to that for company car tax reasons.
Good luck.

The new RRFF is launching soon to add an extra dimension.
That's if you have confidence the new model will be niggle free....which I didn't so opted for the full fat version. Land Rover have stopped taking specific build orders but the standard Westminster is pretty well spec'd.

Good luck. The current FFRR is a much better car than the ones of a few years ago. The 4.4 engine and the suspension changes have improved it a lot.

I run a 4.4TDV8 autobiography next to the Aston, the two complement each other perfectly, especially with our British weather! Go for the FF, it's an amazing machine.

Best of both worlds, with the added advantage of being possibly the coolest car on the planet. Used for the rib, used for the bikes, kayaks and shopping. If we didn't have the need for the above, then we'd buy a cooking A6 estate, not a geezer 'init' RRS or a 'man bag' Evoque.

They both look good, my brother already has RRS, but have been tempted into buying a evoque aswell looks like a great shopping car ( so my mum says) as she finds the RRS to big to fit into tesco's car park. but if i had to have one it would be the RRS just easier to get people and luggage in

Evoque is a bit cheap looking ......ok for orange wife's of Liverpool footballers.....RRS much classier........you won't be allowed into a Cheshire Polo match car park in a Evoque ......new shape VW Toureg is a great unpretentious 4x4

I repair LR for a living and I would go 100% for a FFRR compared to the RRS as it is a much better build,ie you need to replace a turbo on a RRS you need to separate the body from the chassis, a 30 hours job and most of the mechanical is like that. Last week we had to change a PAS pump bracket on da 2.7 Disco3:8 hours. On the other hand the Evoque is based on the Freelander2 platform and has so far prooved to be extremly reliable, anyway here in Martinique where cars suffer from high tempertures and humidity,I have a customer having clocked 140 000 miles on a Free in four years with very little apart from regular services.Compared to the Disco and Range Rover it is a much smaller car loosing the ever practical aspect of its roomier stablemates.
