Went for an early morning blat today as it wasn't raining, but it took me about 10 minutes to stow the roof I have established that curve of the panel goes downwards at the bottom of the boot, and the other end needs to go in first (at the top of the boot), but it seems that one panel needs to go in first (is the pass.side panel bigger?). I don't have a "system" which would be useful! Also, does the boot need packing with soft bags around the roof? Ideal would be a way of getting roof in/out without disturbing luggage for touring but I think that may be a bridge too far. Judgement call about the weather before any long journeys when touring

There seem to be as many roof-packing methods as there for fitting coolant caps.
The passenger panel is longer than the driver side. For me, it's pass side first, curved edge upwards, then driver side, same way.
Others I know put theirs in on one edge, some the other edge, some with driver side on top, some underneath.
So it seems that you can fit trhem how you like!
Soft luggage is a must though.

There are several ways of stowing the roof - here's mine.
O/S panel comes off first, so goes into the boot first, curved edge uppermost above the fuel tank. I never bother with roof bags, so I drape a folded towel over the O/S panel then put the N/S panel on top, again with the curved edge above the tank. It drops into the bottom of the boot first and the curved edge just squeezes nicely past the boot aperture seal. There's stowage space above and below - soft bags work well.
Have fun, Graham.
PS - I'm a bit worried you haven't been able to work out that one panel is bigger than the other...

Hey, it's been raining! I assumed that one was bigger but I haven't compared them - like I say, there has been no method whatsoever so far

Good to see there's no "right" way to do this as I haven't been following any of the methods mentioned. I fit the driver's side in first, but it goes in with the curved side in the R/H corner of the boot, curving into that space. Then the passenger panel on top of that curving the same way.
I do that as when fitting the roof the passenger one goes on first and will stay in place long enough for the driver's panel to be collected and put on too... Although I NEVER enjoy that bit!

I wonder how much variation there is in the boot aperture and the roof panels.
Wouldn't be surprised what works for one S doesn't work for them all...
