New TVR owner here! smile

Just picked her up today, and she is fantastic. The only issue I have, is no garage.

I do have a car cover currently, but have found today it is far, far too big for the Chimaera. It is on at the moment, but really is only going to be a temporary measure.

Can anyone recommend a good outdoor car cover?

I've seen this one - http://www.hamiltonclassic.co.uk/acatalog/OutdoorC... as recommend on http://www.chimaerapages.com/resources_cover.php

These give some options - http://www.carscovers.co.uk/TVR-CHIMAERA-CAR-COVER... I'd probably go for the Stormforce off that site.

Any others? Thanks!

I got myself the Leven hood cover as I keep my car outside too.
Really good, as you don't need to clean the car before fitting - plus it protects the bit that actually might leak.

I had exactly the same problem! I bought the Hamilton Classics one, quite expensive at £166 inc delivery though. I put it on on Friday, rained very hard yesterday and the car remained dry.

Here is a photo with it on:

Stormforce is excellent. I use one on mine and no scratching and it is very secure but allows plenty of airflow underneath as well.

I have a Leven hood cover but the Stormforce one for full cover. Though I did have to replace it after someone pinched it a couple of years ago. The Stormforce one is excellent, well worth the money.

Full covers are fine if the car is clean otherwise the cover turns in fine sandpaper because of the dust and muck on the car. That said, I used a Hamilton classics cover for two years without any problems. The car was just washed more often than it is now. I also had a leven cover for when I didn't have time to wash it on mucky days.

All depends how often you are going use it. For every day use, I would get a Leven one

Hi Monsterline, YHM!

These covers are the business, i kept an Elise under one for a whole winter, no problems with leaks or scratches. They are very expensive new, for a reason, they're excellent. I've just bought one for my new Tuscan and it was £375.

Call me on 07767 891131 if you would like more info.

Cheers,

Simon

I had a Hamilton Classics one - very good quality but just too big imo and due to this it did not cope well in the wind.

It is sold as fitting a Chim or Cerb and obviously the Cerb is a good bit longer

For what it's worth i have a Cover-Zone indoor cover that fits brilliantly. I know they do outdoor covers as well but can't comment on how good they are albeit i am looking to buy an outdoor cover in the near future.

I too have the Hamliton and the leven, would recommend keeping the Leven with you, it's an easy way of making the car look secure with out having to fiddle around putting the roof panel in.

I have a Moltex cover from Hamilton classics, they recommend the large size, I went for the next size down and its nice and snug on the chim. The large one I had first hung off each end and flapped around.

Hi
I'm also looking for a cover for a Chimaera, do the Hamilton ones have any straps underneath to keep it on in windy weather?
Thanks
