THE CAYMAN R HAS ARRIVED :)

Thanks
I think so too with another forty horses it would be crazy.
Had a 997.1 Gt3 a few cars b4 this but was not a good daily driver with the speed humps and traffic, but so far this has been great and really does feel like you can get 100 percent of the car most of the time, its great fun and already been sneaky out for little runs in it

The over all package is great to be honest got the touch screen sat nav, its not got the Bose system and it sounds great, its got the phone connect wireless
and ipod connects up nicely so no cd's needed ( saves weight without all those cd's haha) with the PDK sport+ chrono thing to be honest all the car I need.
Being that little bit lower the Wheels spoilers i was going to take off the Graphics but you know what it all looks just right, its more then quick enough for the time being
and ready for the occasional track day when i get round to it.
I would recommend a test drive for sure

I am like a kid in a sweet shop. Sat thinking what can I get for £25K, would love a 996GT2 but scared of getting involved in the local hedgerow and high maintence bills. 996TT a future clasic IMO but again possibly high maintence bills and looking at 8+ year old car. 997 C2 or C2s interesting and have back seats for the little one and more civilised.
But then you look at the Cayman R and it stops you in your tracks. £25K budget moves to £45 and now you are into 997TT and 996 GT2, GT3.
However new car verus 2nd hand decisions decisions.
What is your Cayman R like to drive as a normal car?

If you've got the time here's my thread detailing four days of using a caymanR as my only mode of transport:What is your Cayman R like to drive as a normal car?

Nice. I will likely buy CR also within a year. I got about 73% of the money together already
I was a bit worried about 3rd gear throttle limiter issue on some cars but that can be removed with software update to ecu.( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSOm1x9a_Is )

I have a short journey to work about 6 miles in and 6 out mix of dual carriage way and stop start traffic
a few speed humps and i am getting 25-27 mpg which is not bad,at the weekend i even saw 41.5mpg and you cannot grumble at
that and its early days yet with the first tank reading saying 22.5 mpg thats with all the spirited driving around get to know the car.
Took my mate out for a spine and b4 he was laughing a the inner door handles (all this to save weight he said ha ha)
After the taking them out he was blown away it like a Go Kart he could fill how light it was so pointy, he said you really
don't need anything better then this it's responsive and rapid.
I was only gonna spend 15K on a car first of all be good i said !
Then 20-30k was thinking 996 tt then 997 tt but tip box is slow, one test drive later and here we are today.
If your spending the money you have a special car and the Cayman R is just that exclusive AND FUN.
