The Monaro front bumper on ebay. Sold today for £460.00. Am I correct in thinking it's for the CV8 VXR? I ask because mine doesn't have the the number plate recess.

That's the one thing Gary does that I don't agree with. It will make it much harder for us to obtain parts. On the other hand he's out to make money just like any other business & it's his choice, right or wrong.

Can't see any issues with Gary winning the item, if any one wanted it that bad, all you needed to do was bid !!

The only way we as a forum are ever going to ensure parts remain in this country is to set up a 'fund' and buy the parts ourselves when they become available. Then, when someone requires a part, they effectively buy it from the forum. If we don't do that, we can't complain when someone buys the part and does what they want with it!

People tell me that Raving is a top man and is always happy to help out where he can. Let's not forget that he's the one speculating with his own money here [lots of it too!] and I for one don't begrudge him a profit. I hope that I never need his services, but it's reassuring to know that he's there.

I can see what you mean but that's what you get for buying a rare imported car. Hopefully with the GTO in the US, it won't be long before decent pattern parts will be available off the shelf, as they are for most old school muscle cars out there. Truth be told, if I ever decide to sell my car I would look to sell it over in OZ, don't see why I should be mugged off with the stupidly cheap prices they go for over here compare to OZ. Not so long ago on OZ E-Bay, same car as mine, standard sold for A$60,000 !! Simple fact is parts for our car's are not cheap full stop, even in OZ, it's only shipping costs, duty and VAT that make it even more of a hit for us.

And I suppose that if you guys don't want these parts going to Aus then we could become a band of "eBay snipers" and fight to keep these parts here!?
