Hi Guys ,
the time has come to re-roof my 97 Chim 4.0 HC in halcyon midas pearl.
I have heard of a fellow TVR nut that you can have the rear window replaced with a smaller aperture ,that folds down flat .Does anyone have some pictures out there with the roof up and down.....AND IF SOMEONE HAS HAD THIS DONE WHAT ARE THE WINDOW SIZES !!!!

Also what do you think guys ,stick with the original or go bespoke ?

PHer Ralphy12345 has a modded roof. If I was contemplating a roof replacement I would definitely have a similar mod

That is not a bad idea....

Zip from the inside....Mmmmm

Could be noisy (flappy) though....

Stop the plastic creasing and it would also look Tuscan-esque.........

The smaller window looks f-ing hideous.

They don't suit the car and look like a cheap copy of the original.

How predictable wink

No just like my lights, it's a matter of taste.

The OP asked an opinion on roofs not my lights.

That makes sense Nosh but the smaller window stops it creasing in theory. I think it looks better, the curved rear screen is a bit of a strange design.
I wonder if you could get a glass rear screen when having it made smaller

The roof should be off most of the time anyway smile

Wish i had gone for the smaller rear window ..

There are some variations ,i would go for the one where the sides angle same as the roof .looks better than the rectangle square edge type .

Look at this one which follows the angle ,looks better

They sit much lower when down.

No creases in the plastic

Really? I think I actually like the look of the smaller window better ... I don't really like seeing the struts so visible in the original big window - it's rather like seeing a gorgeous girl and then seeing she has braces on her teeth, biggrin

How difficult is it to fit a roof yourself? I hadn't actually contemplated doing that...

I think the original hood looks much better. As a former MX5 owner, the smaller window looks a bit MX5esq!
