He also does reports for Ch 10 in Australia during the year and featured heavily during the Australian GP.

I think JA's great. He tried a bit too hard on tv but I've always enjoyed his other work. The website and podcasts in particular.

i like his website except for the fact that he writes a story for every single ferrari press release - even 'fernando alonso went to the toilet this wednesday. I was there to talk to ferrari about the cleaning products they use in their factory, and the competitive advantage this gives them'

I listened to him on BBC 5-live and watched the pictures on French TF1.

For some reason, the Sat-radio is about 4 seconds in advance of the digital TV pictures which seems to give JA great powers of predictive foresight.

Quote of the race came from Jamie A - "Air is everything" which sort of summed up the race.

To be fair to him (and I've not heard it) the F1 diffs are quite a lot more complicated than most conventional diffs since they need hydraulic pressure to operate.

The little piece that Garry Anderson did with Sam Michael a couple of races back on the Beeb, on gearboxes, said it all.

He explained that they now have 30 parameters monitored whereas in Garry's day (i.e. only 15 years ago) they monitored just three; this showed how complicated a gearbox / diff. is now.

JA’s problem was (that in a live race), you cannot explain that complexity in just a few words. I was not offended by his comment.

They need hydraulic pressure to NOT operate. They work as any conventional open diff with no hydraulic pressure, as that's what it is!
