which battery for my 1.4 k supersport
Discussion
the new supersport i have bought has no battery at moment,(the original banner lost a cell so current owner been using a bike battery) and am wanting to source one so i can fit as soon as it arrives with me. i am unsure what mountings etc are like on the caterham but the current owner said the correct banner battery is model 3034D or something like.
is there a nice lightweight alternative that will fit the mounts/tray and not cost the earth? or should i buy a banner battery? cheers

A few of the Lotus 7 Club owners are using these.....

About half the size of the Banner and you can lay them on their side as they are sealed. I have had one fitted for over a year without any issues

I ordered one of those for my sigma 125, but as they were out of stock, they sent me the NP18 instead, same brand, slightly smaller amp hour version. I initially persuaded the existing battery tray to lay the battery down, but eventually fabricated a new tray from some aluminium and replaced the existing steel affair.
Others have stood the battery up in the existing tray, and put a chock of wood or that dense packing foam (that you sometimes get with electronic equipment) with it. I took the opportunity to fit a battery isolator switch (not a full FIA one), which I turn off whilst garaged. Car can stand for months, turn switch and fires up first time.
Definitely recommended, turns over a lot quicker than my old Banner did.
