Hi,

A quick post on behalf of my great mate who is a long term owner of a 1996 TVR Chimaera. It has been off the road for a year or so and he is keen to get it tested, insured and back on the road.

He and I previously both used Hagerty (for my Tuscan RR) who were very TVR-friendly. Alas it seems that is no longer the case. Is anyone able to just let me know if there is a go-to company beyond the dreaded CONFUSED.COM.

Many thanks,

Tom

Assuming he is a good insurance risk, RH Insurance have been more than reasonable with good service and pricing.

Guys, thank you so much, great stuff so far. When the quotes he has had so far are greater than my Pantera, you start to worry!!

I'm going through this now - 31, 5 year no claims, 1 accident. MSM & Classicline around £500. Taylor Henderson & Mannings couldn't get remotely close. Be careful that these firms retain your NCB though. With these specialist policies its also worth noting that you do NOT want another driver on the policy - they assume that the second driver doesn't have experience with the car so it will likely push your price up not down.

Manning for me. Includes track day cover too if that's your thing. But as someone else said it takes no notice of ncb as it's classic insurance. That didn't matter to me though as I had no ncb due to having a company car.

MSM have been great with me. Partly due to being the only company to give a reasonable quote to a 23 year old!
