T4 Diesel Engines

I have just become the proud owner of a turbo diesel T4 which has snapped its cambelt, it also has starship mileage on it +300k. Are all 1.9 VW diesels the same? if they are not what are the differences and are there any on-line resources that might help me identify a decent 2nd hand engine for it.

If you can get the engine code off the head, you should be able to find plentiful engines around. Assume it will be a 1.9 TDI of some derivation?
