I've been trawling for Xbox Live memberships since mine is up for renewal. Yeah, alright, I know I'm 33, but Call of Duty does provide hours of entertainment...

Looked at one auction on eBay and it instantly burst into very loud, very annoying music: NSFW if you have speakers: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

Decided to give the seller a little polite feedback about why I wouldn't be buying- And the fact that it would cause anyone at work to instantly turn it off.

Received this back:

touchy seller said:
"This is a children's gaming console with a children's song.
Never had any complaints, your supposed to be working at work, not looking up children's gaming subscriptions.
No one else have ever had this problem, you need to calm down and stop getting your knickers in a twist over a song.
Your banned, have informed other sellers also.
have a nice day... hey just saying..."
The sad thing is, I would have bought it otherwise...

Quite what I'm "banned" from I'm unsure... hehe

I think the tactic is that it's cheap, then the annoying music comes on so you go 'fk it, buy it quick' just to get of the page.

If you were feeling touchy you might reply to remind that most games are 15, 16 and 18+. The banning means he may have added your eBay username to his banned buyers list, so you can't purchase his items.

Do you really have your volume so loud that it would annoy other workers, or let your boss know you're not working? Internet newbie fail tongue out

I got so fed up with websites launching into song that I now simply have my work machine on mute.

This? Seriously! For the first time ever in my working career I'm in a job where I need volume on my computer (I have to test wav files) but as soon as I am done listening to them I press the mute button for the rest of the day.. Not rocket science to be honest.
