This is going to sound very stupid but I honestly have zero experience of having work done on a house....

In our bedroom we have what was originally a dressing room that has a 1.5 normal door width arch way going into it. The previous owner extended the main bathroom into the space for the ensuite and then converted the dressing room into an ensuite. Except for reasons known only to them left the arch in place rather than putting in a door frame and door. We'd obviously like a door frame putting in but I'm not sure which trade would do this. Im presuming any plasterer could do it and it will probably require ripping down some plasterboard and putting a new sheet in with a door shaped hole but not sure.

What has further prompted me to get this sorted is that the shower in the ensuit leaked into the wall. Turns out the base has cracked so I need to get tiles off to remove the base so may as well have the wall sorted at the same time.

Not having much luck with showers the main bathroom shower also leaked through the floor into the living room. Nothing major, just a damp patch that spread. I think I sorted the leak by re-sealing the shower however the plaster in the living room ceiling is ruined. Presumably the best solution is to have the same person doing the ensuite door cut a section of the roof and wall out and patch in some new stuff?

Apologies for the rambling!

A(good)chippy would probably be the best bet to fit a door frame and a plasterer afterwards to make good.

Hadn't thought of a carpenter. Would they do the plasterboard etc then? Guess there's one way to find out!

I'm a Plumber and I can fit plasterboard!. Ring a few people, you'll find that most trades will have another tradesman they share jobs with and liase with each other anyway.

I had a plasterer do this for me in my lounge.

Hard to imagine how he managed to balls it up quite so badly!
