Dealer tells me the new DB9 is out this september. Anyone know anymore about this? Something along the lines of the Virage, but with a lower spec, and then a 'Virage Pack' as an option.

Guessing they'll take off the carbon brakes but keep the basic body style. Wonder if there will be a manual option? Doubt it Big question, would it have the newer style VCT engine, detuned obviously but would be more economical...

Yup thats what I've been told.
Current DB9 will be discontinued. The current Virage will be downgraded in spec (CCB's removed etc...) and will then be called the new DB9. There will be an optional Virage pack to take it back up to current Virage spec.

Interesting... Will there be a DB9 and then a 'DB9 Virage', Virage replacing the word Vantage to denote the higher spec car..? In which case will there become a 'Vanquish Virage' and 'Vantage Virage' as well to denote the more powerful models? Aston made a pigs ear out of their naming convention using 'Vantage' for a discrete car. Should have been: DB9 DB9 Vantage (for DBS) AMV8 (for Vantage) AMV8 Vantage (for Vantage S) AMV12 (for V12V) I should be in charge

that's my understanding too
I don't know exact details of engine, but I did hear a whisper it may be get the DBS engine, which would make sense as they will be producing that engine for the V12V & V12VR anyway plus perhaps that's also the engine destined for the update Rapide ?

Would be great to think there would be a manual option but I too doubt it The factory is having mroe direct contact than ever from customers ordering the Vanquish as they effectively all (for now anyway) have to be individualyl specced rather than ordered for stock. If lots of customers tell them they want manual, they may listen (be it for vanquish or db9). If they don't, that will be the final nail in the coffin for GTs with a manual box I'm still convinced that some of the reasons behind death of manual box is dealer led rather than customer led, for Aston and others

Do you think they'll produce a Vanquish Virage Vantage Volante ?

If they could achieve this it would undoubtedly have a positive effect on residuals!

I would be interested to know how many new DB9's have been sold in the UK over the last twelve months.

AdamV12V said: according to howmanyleft.co.uk the answer is 23. 18 coupes + 5 volantes Seems a bit low to me That's because how many left is wrong a lot of the time.
