Blasting up the M6 in the DB9 with the roof down in the bright sunshine on Wednesday evening I found the sun a little bright/ low in the sky so flipped the (minuscule) sun visor open only to find I was staring into a vanity mirror - on the driver's side . What is that about - can,t think of any other car I have owned that has a vanity mirror on the drivers side.Has market research revealed we are all posers /women or is it something to do with left hand drive cars ?

Pretty much every modern car has this.

Even my Discovery has one.

It's not unique to Aston, it stops women complaining that 'sexist' car designers think they should be in the passenger seat.

Anecdotally, I believe the Itailians started the trend smile

But yes, just about everything has it now wink

Well I can tell you it's not very clever in bright sun light - creates more reflections and distractions when driving.

Maybe because the saunas been absent for such a long time, it is the first opportunity you have had to use it. I agree though, it is not very practical.

Not sure about the DB9, but the mirror on the V8V has a flip-up cover, so you should be able to have the visor down without seeing the mirror...

The Vanquish of course doesnt have a "vanity" mirror either side. It's far too manly for that!

2002 Corsa has them both sides - and yes the DB9 has covers on the mirrors too. The covers are probably a legal requirement smile

I'll guess the Volante and coupe have different sun visors - certainly no covers on mine!

Pretty sure I don't have covers on my 2008 V8V, would be useful, but the sun visors block so little of the screen I rarely kind myself in a situation where they help.
