- don't let Coys anywhere near the event.
- don't rip off the club members
and then there are the lessons from the the year before... and the year before... and the year before .... and .... Not going anywhere near it this year.

That s a fairly negative post, then you add the final negative bit that you are not going. I'm sure the club have done the best they can do as always. Just go and enjoy it and enjoy your Porsche with other Porsche Club Members. I know I would be there if I lived in the UK.

the 100+ page directors report including all scandals about expenses and such like, the legal fees, the shonkey committee members, the in-fighting, the pissing down the toilet of members money and all the other s t that went on is enough to put anyone off - I would rather go (undrugged) to the dentist and have all my good teeth pulled with a rusty screwdriver! khushy oh and please dont start sprouting the usual b ks about "you only get out what you put in" fgs!!!

I think if you had been ripped off, sworn at and lied to by representatives of the club and its contractors, the club to which you pay a membership fee, you might also think twice about paying out to attend another of their junkets. Particularly so when you learn club officals were going to South Africa on club money for club 'business trips'. .. ahem! Anyway too nice a day to be wasting it on here. Ta rar

I am also a supporter (ie I renew my membership each year because I believe its better to have the club, than not)... but, I have to say though that last years 50th anniversary was pretty appalling all considering.

Actually on a beautiful sunny weekend like this I'm completely undecided about how best to enjoy my porsche:
1. Drive the long way to the beach with my leggy blonde in the passenger seat before relaxing by the waves rubbing suncream on each other and driving home via a lovely country pub for a small glass of wine and some fine dining. Then driving into the cool evening sunshine home for some long anticipated sweet loving or 2. Parking the blue cars next to the white cars next to the silver cars in a field and get talked at for an hour by a bloke with a beard about tappets.
Hmmm. Which'll it be?

So, if I drive the 100+ miles or so to this Chateau in my VW, can I buy a ticket (with old-fashioned cash) at the gate using my PCGB membership card? Or will I be turned away as one of the great unwashed? The PCGB website has little or no, up-to-date information as they state `more info to folow` on the National Event...

Hi David, entry is £15 per vehicle on the gate. Saturday is Members day so you'll have no problems. Sunday is open to everyone.
Advance tickets and paying on the gate details were in Porsche Post and also there has been a useful FAQs thread in the PCGB forum.
