Gallardo with very twitchy rear end
Discussion
I've just bought an 06 E-gear Gallardo, I posted up about a problem it has with being jerky on takeoff and in reverse, people pointed out it must be the PIS needing adjusting, that is about to be looked at but this is another issue.
I have driven my friends 06 Gallardo spyder numerous times and not once has it ever felt twitchy or has the back end gone sideways under mild acceleration. Mine seems like a totally different car. Other than being a coupe it should be exactly the same.
When going around roundabouts in the dry the back end will try to kick out. Also if I floor it in a straight line the back end will slightly lose control.
I came out of a shopping centre and gave it some power on the bend and ended up going sideways lol.
My friend has now taken the car out for a spin and he thinks that compared to his the car is a death trap. He says that the rear end tries to do stuff his never has in over a year of ownership. All of this is in the bone dry, I dread to think what it will be like in the wet.
The rear tyres have about 3-4mm left but we drove my friends until his rears were much lower and it never lost the back end so it can't be that.

The traction control light doesn't come on, at least I dont think it does. I did have it checked out and it was found to have had no accidents. The tyre pressures are correct. It honestly feels like a very powerful rear wheel drive car. I'm now wondering if somebody has converted it and nobody has noticed until now. How can I tell if it has been converted without taking it to Lamborghini?
Lol I meant Pirelli of course. I have Michelin Super sports on my M3 which is why I was confused. The car is in the Algarve and there is no specialists about so I think I may have to get the car to Lamborghini in Lisbon for them to check it out. I did get the car at a great price so I budgeted a few k to counter any problems.

A session on a wheel alignment machine could be money well spent.
This - geometry tweaks can often feel like an upgrade. Also check the age of the rubber - just because you have tread doesn't mean you have any grip on old tyres - they could be six years old. Beyond that I'd be looking at bushes and other suspension components - was the car ever sat for a long period of time?
Is it a yellow one ???
They all do it.

Seriously get the geo setup correctly.
