I know they put the cars through the 111 point check but Do they have standard checks over and above in terms of previous accident damage/paintwork and over revs?

They certainly should cover that (over-revs in particular are standard as those have an effect on whether they will retail the car in the first place), though from my experiences they certainly don't check the geometry so there will always be unturned stones.....

+ they don't check corrosion on the inward-facing brake disc surfaces (or if they do check it, then it makes little odds if the car is then sat on the forecourt for a month or so undriven)

The buyer does the checks, he then takes it back the OPC gives him a Boxster. Then they claim on Porsche warranty which applies to all used sales as the over rev st doesn't apply to them.

What checks do they do laugh

I once had a 997 cab which they wouldn't take because it had apparently been over rev'd. I might have had the odd spirited drive but I never drove it like it was 'meant' to be driven. So why do they discriminate against something which was its selling point when they sold it to you in the first place???

I believe they have guidelines with tolerances from GB.

Though as the well known orange RS case highlights, some cars are sold at their discretion... smile

I'm starting to realise that all dealership franchises are just there to sell cars and make money from over priced servicing and repair. I really, really wish that everybody else would get that. I currently run a DB9 Volante and not having all the official Aston stamps in the service books knocks off £££s off the value, when in reality a good independent will ensure your car is in much better shape than if you regularly put it through the official network.

Jebus, that is a horrendous story. Porsche should hang their head in shame.

I was talking to my local OPC about GT3s some time ago and said that they tend to avoid selling used ones because they nearly always have some kind of story behind them and anyone looking to buy one will post on here and dig up some kind of history that it was impossible for them to find out about wink
