I suppose I will never warm to the appearance of the Panamera, with its hulking, hunchbacked stance. Its certainly aggressive though. The GTS is not the fastest but it is probably the sportiest of the lot combining the V8 of the Panamera S with a full raid on the Porsche goodie bin.

It handles like a much smaller car and might be the best sounding of any car in the current range when you set it up in Sport plus. The PDK on this particular car was a bit jerky which is very unusual in my experience. The interior uses dollops of alacantera and CF. I thnk its a bit garish with all that brightwork. Many like the seats, but I found them to be a bit flat.
Like all Panameras rear view is limited, and I am surprised there is no rear view camera ( I have never had one,but on a car this size it might be a good idea). Cornering is sensational for the size of the thing, and it brakes on a dime. If you need four seats and you want something with excellent handling, its worth a look. Bloody quick.

I had a Panamera Diesel on loan recently and was very impressed. Obviously not as sporting as the GTS, but a seriously competent luxury 4-seater.

The controversy regarding the looks seems to have died down and the styling isn't so bad. But, Porsche should have got it right first time. Like the original Cayenne, the challenging looks hurt sales and it took Porsche 6 years before they put it right.

Doubtless there will be some mid-life styling tweeks to the Cayenne, but it will probably be another 3-4 years before we see an all new Panamera that hopefully has excited customers queuing up to join the waiting list.

The shape seems to be pretty colour sensitive. The red on this car made it look a tad better.

There was a new black GTS in my local OPC when I popped in today. I glanced at the official spec sheet in the little stand next to it, and was surprised to see the engine billed as a twin turboed V8. I did wonder if they'd downsized the motor for '13, but turns out the official computer that prints out the official spec. sheets was on the fritz*.

One I had on loan the other week was black, with black rims (a Panny S, Hybrid). My impressions were similar to those of the OP - though I'd imagine the hybrid weighs more and probably has a smaller boot. I was surprised at the time how high the boot floor was, but now realise that it was probably concealing all the electrical gubbins).
