Thinking of swapping my r33 gtr for this???
Discussion
Hi guys, do any of you know of this car ? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/4153240.htm
I'm thinking of going back to a rwd car and the cerebra is in my top 3 right now. This car seems odd though having a different type of engine in it although to be honest I really only know about gtrs and know little about tvrs other than they require lots of car.
If any of you know the car, can you give me some advice on it please?
In fact any advice from you guys will be helpful!

That's what I'm worried about. Not that it's got another engine but the fact that it's got a different type of engine! I like the looks of it, I like the colour but Im hoping somebody on here knows it or of it.
Chimera is an option but it would need to be immaculate. Total 100% for me to swap. I can't bring myself to advertise my gtr. I can't be bothered with all the "I really like your car, once I sell mine I'll buy yours" and I'll offer you 3k below your asking price because I'm a cheeky trader"
Here's my car.

Why not buy a nice Chimaera if you want a Rover engined car, and have the Cerbera looks with an open top? Without meaning to sound like an intense purist, why somebody would want to rip the heart and soul out of a Cerbera and drop another engine in it is beyond me.
It's a good point well made.JTJUDGE said:
I'd prefer a cerbera. We don't get many rainless days in Scotland.
Then buy one. A Cerbera has an AJP 8 or Speed 6 engine by design. Either of which are significantly more powerful and very different in character to a Rover engine (that has been bodged into an engine bay never designed for it!).There are plenty of real Cerberas about!
Am in Scotland too. Firstly jees i thought that GTR's were worth alot more than that untill i checked the classifieds, the market must have sharply fallen away recently has it? Firstly with TVR's the markets not going to fall away, in most cases you'll get your money back. Seccondly do you have your heart set on one of the older designs? I would a assume a GTR owner would be into modern trickery and design. Have you thought about a Tuscan, in my opinion they look nicer than cerbs, although do only have 2 seats but you can remove the roof! Tuscans all run a straight 6 engine, either 3.6 or 4litres, power is between 350 and 400bhp (i being a yobbo 24year old have a 400ish bhp one) This is a tottaly modern race dervied engine, with a dry sump and although it wont create low down grunt like the old rover tank engine it can certainly sing! This is my 2p worth, you will find that all TVR owners are particulary biased to whichever car they own, we get good craic at the meets too.

That is totally untrue. Chimaeras are the best car to come out of Blackpool, and that is a completely biase free opinion
Go for a 4.5 Cerb, it's on my must have list
Don't even think about an RV8 Cerb, it's simply not right
If the car had a snapped crank say hence why there is no AJP anymore this could be a stonker of a car with potential to fit a power Turbo kit to see it push well north of the 400bhp mark. Worth a look in my eyes if the price is right and you don't mind a flaming from the AJP police.
I like it but i dont follow the sheep

Have you had it on a dyno?scotty_d said:
Where about in Scotland are you? If your close enough to me your more than welcome to have a look round my Cerb and i will try my best to point out problem area's having more or less pulled most of mine to bits over the last couple of years.
I'm in Glasgow mate. I might take you up on that offer. I'm speaking to the guy tomorrow about the car.I'm still wary about the engine but I'll go through it with a fine toothed comb.
