As per title, I have found 2 different V5 documents in my file for one of my cars.
I have never applied for a replacement document. The are both of the old green style and both have the same details and number of previous owners, but different document numbers.
If I ever came to sell the car, which document do I send off? Why might I have 2 of them?

It would appear that you have cloned your own car. If you start getting speeding tickets, parking fines etc, some b d (you) must have been parking illegally, safe in the knowledge that some other poor sod (you) will have to foot the bill. If I were in your shoes, I'd contact the old bill, and let them know about it. It's mthe only way to protect you from yourself.

How come you still have an old green style V5, thought they were all changed to the new red ones a few years back?

Anyone else have any ideas? I would have rang the DVLA, but they are on strike today. No, really.

They have been replacing the 'blue' ones with 'red' ones for a couple of years now, and have said this process will be complete by November this year. I'm still waiting for a 'red' one for one of my cars.
All because of some (a lorry load?) stolen 'blue' blanks. Cue hollow laughter...

I just spotted that one of them is marked as a Duplicate document. (previous owner ordered it then found the first one perhaps?)
So, does the Duplicate document automatically replace the first one? i.e. if I sell, do I send off the duplicate one?

It was about 10,000. Enough to seriously fudge the system up. aw51 121565 said: They have been replacing the 'blue' ones with 'red' ones for a couple of years now, and have said this process will be complete by November this year. I'm still waiting for a 'red' one for one of my cars.
