2005 plate C2s. Where the wipers are. Any suggestions as to how to re black.

My detailer can/will do but before I get him to do at great cost (and great success) what else works?

And not Halfrauds "back to black"!

Cheers
Mike

What colour is the car? I find crunchy peanut butter works on light colours and smooth on dark ones.

Meguires tyre blackening stuff. Works a treat & you don't have to do it in hiding in case anyone sees you putting peanut butter on you car wink

Waste of money! You do know that the main ingrediant in Meguires is peanut butter, so you are just paying for the label.

Auto Glym Bumper Care - not synthetic and "nourishes" the plastic or rubber without leaving shininess or gummy flaky lacquer. I've used it on my cars for many years and it really brings back dulled/grey plastic/rubber parts. I've also found if plastic is badly faded you can apply a number of applications over a few weeks and it really restores the blackness. Only thing is it dispenses as a green gunge which can be off-putting to start with but great stuff.

Try a heat gun, used it on mine on my 996 and has brought it up really well, do it about once every 3 months just to bring the colour back up a bit but it generally lasts for that sort of period.

I find adding a touch of Marmite to the peanut butter works well on non metallics.

I'm going mad! How about brown sauce? Have I stepped into a parallel toast topping universe?

Buy a new one and change it, I did this on my 996 and it was very easy. Lifted the appearance no end.

There are so many trim restorers, everyone assumes the one they have works best and lasts the longest...

I have tried a few and I have kept 3:

GTechnic, lasts forever but expensive.
Autofinesse Revive, cheap and decent longevity
Carpro PERL, cheap and OK longevity and can be used for loads of stuff depending on dilution (dash, tyres, trim, etc).

But the crucial aspect is the prep, no product will work well without proper decontamination first with a highly concentrated APC (1:3), particularly on that bit of trim with all the dimples, a nail brush is best for prep.
