Hey all, Currently store my old Porsche 924 in my carport, a few of the neighbours have cats, so the inevitable is happening, bloody things crawling all over it. Was going to buy a car cover, but on talking to a few people, have been told that cats also like using these as a "scratching pad". Any advice on the matter? Personally, if it was allowed, and apologies to the cat lovers, I would just the bloody things, but apparently that is not allowed.

Try cat repellant granules/sprays.
A local cat or cats decided the best place to crap was between mine and my neighbour's cars. Put down cat repellant granules twice or three times over the space of a week and the cats have not curled one out there for 2 years now.

Just have to keep putting down granules.

You can buy some plants called p s off plants. The cats hate the smell of them, keep them in pots so you can move them around. We use them as a) the local cats attempt to use our front garden as a toilet and b) one cat has at least once used my rear bumper as a scratching pole. Not a cat fan here tbh.

My grandfather put moth balls wherever cats had been on his garden. Swore they never returned.

Super soaker 500 is your friend here.
Also loud clapping at them. One neighbour does this all the time clap clap clap I however don't think that method is too good but the water pistol works a treat.
Or a very very low powered paint ball gun....
Bucket of water thrown at them either from 1st floor window or any other way.
Petrol engines nitro radio controlled car.... Ones near me hate it. Likewise lawn mowers they hate those too.

Thanks for the replies all, will try some of the repellent mentioned I think.
With regards to the "get a dog", already have one, problem is that the car port is not attached to my house, is on a neighbours property, double port, one half of which belongs to me.
Will also get a cover, was just curious if they did attract cats to use them as scratching posts, as I had been told!
Failing that, water squirter it is.
