I plan to be there - coming from the Peninsula/Los Altos Hills. Only thing that may interfere is I'm new with a young startup where it's hard to predict time away from work. But surely hope to be there with my GTR. V

Guys: be indulgent I am posting this to keep the notice on the front page for a bit. The Ultima owners in the U.S. are spread out all over the place and we want them all to have a chance to see the posting. Thanks for understanding, Lee

Guys: Again please be patient we just want to keep this notice on the front page of the blog for a bit longer. I have had 2 requests for info from prospective attendies besides the 6 or 7 of us already committed. when you consider that to our knowledge there are maybe 12 cars in California, Oregon, Washington and Arizona an area as big as the E.U. and England that's not to bad. I am currently living in Austin Texas area. I have become seriously interested in the possibility of building an Ultima GTR. Are there any owners that currently live anywhere in the Texas area, preferably in the surrounding areas of Dallas and Houston? I know I have never seen anything like it in Austin, so doubt that I could get that lucky. I would love to get some conversations going with people in the states who have undertaken the adventure of building this beautiful car. And would certainly love to see one in person. I guess if I had to fly to California to see one, that wouldn't be that bad. I was actually born and raised in the Southern California area, so know the area well. Any and all info would be appreciated. Mark

Lee,
October is getting a bit late to drive a CanAm over the Sierras, plus my EFI is still not tuned for low altitude. Plus that weekend is our SCCA region season closer at Reno-Fernley. That said drop me a line with the agenda, you never know.

2000 miles is a bit far for me to drive my GTR for your gathering. But I love the roads there.

Well, let me be first to thank the organizers and participants in this years Ultima gathering in sunny Northern California. Five Ultima's showed up, others joined without their cars (one just shy of completion, one planning to purchase). It was a spectacular day. Gathering in Morgan Hill, quick breakfast, drive through Santa Clara, Monterey and Santa Cruz counties. Then a surprise stop at one of the great auto sites in the area - Canepa Design. The showroom, restoration and auto museum run by ex-racer Bruce Canepa located in the Santa Cruz mountains. The build quality of the Ultima cars that joined in was absolutely fantastic. Thoughtful and careful assembly work and brilliant customization of features and finish. It was all just a stunning display of design innovation and quality work. And a great bunch of people made it a perfect day. I've listed a URL where I've posted just a few of the pics I took during the day. Every non-Ultima pic was taken at Canepa Design. And yes, that is an F1. Enjoy. V P.S. Mine is the red one. P.P.S. http://richgreen.smugmug.com/Cars/Ultima/UltimaGat...

Looks like a fantastic get together. Those are some fine builds there gentlemen!! You certainly up the ante for us East Coasters to have a meet. May have to combine it with our baby brother car, the Noble, as we have had some great East Coast Noble gatherings already.
