Looking at doing a day at Bedford Autodrome in a few weeks but slightly concerned about their noise limits. It's 101db static and 87.5 driveby, and they recommend putting cats back on loud cars.
I'd class my Elise as fairly loud but have no idea what it would be if measured. It's a Sport 160 with Quicksilver silencer, Eliseparts 421 manifold, decat and Hurricane induction.
Anyone running a similar setup who might know whether i could get away with Bedford's noise limits?

My guess is that'll be a pass on the static and a fail on the drive by.

As above, really.
I got black flagged in my Exige S at the weekend gone by, early on in the practice session at the Bedford 'How Fast' session, with my 2bular 8x22 catback (cat still in place).
Never had any issue before at other circuits with it, in fact only blew 87dB static on the day in question, clearly drive-by was another matter. I can imagine it's a dead certainty with your setup.
Had to pootle past the microphone on the inside of turn-1 on every lap, which wasn't condusive to a great timed lap. I was allowed to give it full beans on my final timed lap but royally stuffed it up.
I guess my options are (if I want to return to Bedford) is to either return to standard silencer or try Jim's H2 trackday system.
So I guess you could be at risk, but may be given the chance to just take it easy past the meter if you encounter the same thing I did.

ive got the gt3 24x8 system on, and its as quiet as a mouse...
bedford is probably the most strict for noise as im aware. id deffo say the op would be flagged....

Looks like i'll have to put the cat back on for Bedford then. Rockingham seems to have much higher limits, maybe i'll get away with it there. The car's reasonably loud but there must be much louder track cars around?

some cars sound louder but pass drive by fine, i think with your setup you'd be screwed at bedford and don park but otherwise fine.
the problem with supercharged cars is the noise as you approach the redline increases exponentially, both exhaust and induction. tend to have a low static and a high driveby.

Rather than do a new post, I'll join in.
I have 2 taster sessions booked for Silverstone on Oct 1st. Will I pass the sound checks. I have:
2005 Exige: 2bular GT3 Sports exhaust with panel eliminator
Silverstone: The noise restrictions for the circuit is 102db on a drive by.
Will I be OK?

Well, as I mentioned in my Bedford experience, my 8x22" has never had issues at other circuits like Brands Indy, which is a drive-by of 92dB, so I'd like to think you'll safe with the Silverstone limit.
Bedford is comparatively tight with their 87.5dB driveby limit, as you can tell from some of the comments!

I was black flagged at Bedford.
Static was always around 92/93dB but I eventually triggered one of the drive-by sensors.
Standard engine with standard exhaust except for Motobuild/Blue Flamer back box and K&N induction. I've also seen a totally standard car black flagged!

I'm pretty sure a 'standard' car would only fail if it had a factory fitted stage 2 or 3 exhaust, or perhaps unusual atmospherics/strong wind on the day. The standard exhaust is really quiet

The standard exhaust is really quiet Damp, misty day. It was a Lotus on Track day and the first time Bedford used the 'one strike' rule. 13 cars were black-flagged (I survived that day).
