Just a heads up re: if you're planning on using Tesco's vouchers at Daytona...

Beware! There's a big list of exclusions, one of which i've fell foul of (wanted to book my son a 'Bambino' module) that aren't mentioned on Tesco's website.

I only found out when I tried to book & Daytona mailed me with a link to them (which you can't actually navigate to on Daytona's own website!?!)

Son was gutted frown So be aware

To be fair the T&Cs are visible to all. On the Tesco website they give you the URL (for the daytona website) for the full T&C's of the deal.

The link wasn't originally on the additional info section on Friday/yesterday (it was in the .pdf) ...mind you at least it shows Tesco's CEO is listening wink

Hi - just to confirm that we have always been as open as possible about what you can and can't use Tesco Clubcard Vouchers for - as we want our involvement to be as positive as all for everyone. As you can imagine, our deal with Tesco means that we don't earn a lot from redeeming vouchers and we simply cannot include Bambino Sessions as we would be running them at a loss if we did.

Full info is at: http://www.daytona.co.uk/tesco/

Hope this helps clear things up.

Cheers for that,

But can the above be found via your own website? ...as i couldn't find it & you don't seem to have a sitemap?

I guess the problem was/is that the point of sale is Tesco's & as such the info should be nice & clear on their website, but at least they've listened to feedback & the exclusions are now a link on the main page (as opposed to a link hidden in a pdf)

Other feedback would be that you (Daytona) probably need to mention that Bambino modules can actually be failed on your website, again i only found out about this when enquiring if my son could complete all 3 modules in one go.

Further feedback would be that if Bambino would run at a loss if using the voucher scheme, then why not cover yourselves & recover it via other means (you do this with the juniors groups?)

Hi

The link is on our special offers page:
http://www.daytona.co.uk/live/specialoffers.php

We don't promote it from the front page as we do like drivers to use real money really.

With regard to Bambino Modules, we do not allow multiple module bookings as there is a chance that a driver may not pass (there is a huge difference between some 5-7 year olds) and as three modules back to back would be very tiring for a 5 year old.

Unfortunately, we cannot include Bambino Modules in most of our special offers and partner offers as the sessions are very labour and equipment intensive. With Junior and Senior Arrive&drive we can allow a lot more drivers on the relevant circuit at the same time and thus the direct costs are shared between them. With Bambino's, we are very limited in the number of drvers per module/session - with many sessions having only 1 or 2 drivers using the circuit and equipment and being supervised by our Instructors. At £20 plus VAT, I am sure you will agree that it offers excellent value.

Are you saying that you couldn't afford to take son karting if Tesco weren't paying?

I have to wonder why you considered it then. Wouldn't son have been just as gutted when he had to stop going once the vouchers ran out?

Tesco's don't pay? ...i do, via their reward system ...which invovles me buying stuff ...from Tesco's.

I'm not sure what to make of your second comment tbh, my son just wanted to try a bit of Karting as it sounded fun to him ...I don't think he's thinking of a career in F1 just yet, he's only 6!

Or are you Anthony Hamilton?

He was simply commenting on your OP. You said your son was 'gutted' he couldn't go which means you don't want to pay for the bambino classes yourself?

As Woof says, just call your local Daytona circuit. They will happily explain how Bambino Training Modules, Bambino Advanced Arrive&Drive and Formula Bambino all work.
