Hi Guys

Stone chips - I know they're inevitable but I looked at a Sagaris yesterday and was slightly bothered by them.

Any tips or thoughts please as the best way to get them repaired. Also any ideas how much it would cost have the front end resprayed?

Thanks in advance
Neil

http://www.surfaceanddesign.com/page12.html heard great things about them and know they have a pricelist.

drive it and dont worry about it until its ready for a respray, you know as soon as you have had them done you will not want to drive it with risk of getting them.

Have a think about paintshield protective film after the respray. Just paid £800 for a front end nose repaint job on my T35-C and then took it to paintshield for their plastic wrap. Really pleased with the quality of the work and the product. Worth considering.

The Tam needs a front end re-spray so i spoke to Brendan at Raceproved....he has quoted me £950 (No VAT) which i think included under the bonnet, this seems to be in line with most other places.

I asked him about Armourfend, but he suggested that it would be better to budget for a front end re-spray every 3 years.

My car has armourfend on it, it's done a really good job at keeping the car chip free for the past 2 years. So I'm not sure I agree with it being cheaper to respray every 3 years, paint shops will recommend that though won't they... smile

It depends on the paint - front end respray for a Cascade Indigo Sag at £1000/litre + vat for the paint ????

Getting my gunmetal grey front end re sprayed by my trusty little spray shop, had loads of cars done by him. £200 including him doing the rear defuser and re fitting my light lenses. Going to have an armour fend film done after.

The reason they say that is that when chipped itself, the armourfend can end up looking worse than the chipped paint would have done. New, front end armourfend is how much? Times that by 3 years and I would think you're well over the re-paint costs. Been there, done it, with my old Tuscan.... hence why I would never put armourfend on my Sag. Plus I hate the looks of the edges after a few polishes. I guess it all depends on how much it's driven and where though.

My Paint shield looks fine after 2 years, the edges don't really show if you're careful with wax.
