As the title says really; £2100 deposit and 8k miles a year for £359 + VAT Pcm......

http://www.britannialeasing.co.uk/bmw-640d-m-sport...

Not a thread for the "you get nothing at the end of it" or the "you can get an Intergrale for the cost of that over 2 years" or the "I don't understand why people lease cars " brigade....

Enjoy. My businness partners just got one.

Well yeah, it's reasonably cheap. But it's £8k/year.

Obviously, fine for some, but probably not the sort of people that are going to want to drive a 6 series diesel?
It's £6250 a year, and probably perfect for someone who has a CC allowance, or runs their own firm and wants a more tax efficient GT as an alternative to a 5 series.

8,000 miles/year, why would you bother with diesel?

The problem with a lot of these big car lease are the headline figures are great as long as you don't want to actually drive the car very far.

Seems a bit silly. 24,000 miles over 3years means minimal fuel savings, whats the point in the diesel?!

I have to agree though, it is cheap.

Sorry, no idea why I put the "£" sign there, I was referring to the mileage.
The mileage would put me off if I wanted one, I can see the place the 640d has as a motor for covering big distances quickly without as many fuel stops, but unless you work in the city and pop out every couple of weeks it would be pointless.

Is £12800 over 2 years cheap?
It doesnt sound that cheap to me. Certainly not cheap enough to make an impules purchase out of. In fact I would suggest it sounds about right.

its a £66k car for the monthly outlay of a £26k (financed) car

that makes it an effin steal in my book.

if your happy with diesel/coupe/mileage/etc

The problem is you get nothing at the end of it and you can get an Integrale for the cost of that over 2 years

To be honest I don't understand why people lease cars

the depreciation alone would be double the £12.5k spent in them 2 years.

no brainer.

That's a good point. How can they do it then?

Subsidised by bmw to shift metal....nothing new?

Flip side is that they're worth even less on the used market. Just have a look on Autotrader and there are year old examples retailing at £40k. Thats about £25k drop in 12 months? Only a fool would pay retail cash for one of these

As far as I am aware, it's only a small batch of cars that were going to be used for the Olympics.

This is when we find out it is a lease company either miss quoting the cost or deliberately making it sound cheap to whip up a frenzy get peoples heads round getting one and then it turns out to be dearer.

There is no point in diesel at that mileage for fuel but being a diesel it will be worth a fair proportion of its new price secondhand as even the buyers of 40 grand secondhand cars are terrified of a petrol engine.

I think I've palmed the 730d off to one of the guys at work and so i'm going the 640d route.....until that bugger Harris did the Panamera Diesel review!

Decisions decisions.....for European blasts to see customers and suppliers.

Won't be able to do too many European blasts on 8,000 miles/year.
