I know that a lot of models were named after mythical or ancient scary things. This was carried right on to the Sagaris and Typhon.

So I was wondering, as an owner of the Tuscan, where that name came from, and come to that, the Tamora and the T350. Something odd happened for a while to the names of the cars before a return to the good old scary mythical theme.

Anyone have an insight?

It was a nod back to the good old days. The original Tuscan was launched in 1967 as a replacement for the Griffith (a name which was also revived later) and sold in V8 and V6 variants until 1971. I guess originally Martin Lilley just wanted his cars to sound Italianate and exotic.

Oliver.
