looks like a copy of a F1 car made of plywood and only using a straight edge

My mum always said to me, if you can't say anythng nice, don't say anything at all. So, the weather's been nice today...by the way shocking car. Yeah I don't have to listen to my mum these days.

You know, I've found the reaction to driving a relatively common seven type car fun, I bet the reaction to driving that is a right giggle! Fair play.

I like it.

I like the idea OP! It's just a bit, well, erm st. Sorry frown

Why not just go for a tidy design rather than try and replicate a current F1 car?
I like the fact that you always give it a go though. thumbup

I like it, apart from aesthetic opinions, it does not look half bad.
don't let "the haterz" put you down.

What performance does it have, bhp/weight ratio?
are these selling or is it mainly your hobby?

Not bothered by "Haterz", presumably they don't understand the concept of "Fun" which is what the car is all about.

It's basically a hobby business, fortunately I don't ned to worry too much about earning a crust out of it, but we're on chassis 17 now so it keeps me busy!

This one is ZZR1400 powered, 190 BHP 113 ft/lbs (equivalent to around 180 ft/lbs due to the torque multiplier b4 the gearbox), 0-60 is around 3.5 secs (Yes, that wipes any smiles off many pisstakers wink ) & top speed around 160 I believe, tho' never had any inclinatuion to take it that far & certainly not tested at that sort of speed.

As I said it 's not just about going quick it's all about putting a smile on your , & others, faces

Out of interest, what are you using as the base vehicle to have an existing plate on it, instead of say, a "Q" plate?

Do the wings work to add downforce at speed?

I don't know whether to laugh or cry, but I think laughing is good so I'll go with that hehe

OP, it's........really interesting! When I say laugh at it I mean in a good way, do you have any build threads on the cars you've built?

I can't help but like the sheer madness of it, the world needs more guys like you knocking these types of things up, more info please!

Yes, all running gear is MR2 Mk1, it's a single donor vehicle other than the rack & lower column .

All wings do work, the narrow rear wing blade originally came from a Jordan F1 car (probably a really ugly one made from plywood biggrin) but the car hasn't been wind tunnel tested or anything like that. That really isn't what the car is about, turning heads & having fun is the object, to say nothing of thumbing your nose at those who said "You can't ................."

To all those who hate it a question, could you do better? Thought not. As Russ says he has built/sold 17 so there are at least 17 who get the fun aspect of the car which is what life is about. Many would rather buy an identikit Ferrari so they can all look the same in the car park others want to be individual.

To me the only odd thing on the car Russ is the air pod behind the seats, it looks too big an clumsy but I guess it needs to be that size to cover the second seat and engine.

Oh, there are compromises all around the car, some to keep the option of both car & bike engines open, some to actually get drivers that aren't built like myself, Lewis Hamilton or Sebaatian Vettel actually in the car rather than perched on top!biggrin, some for reasons of cost & simplicity in manufacture, some so you can actually drive the car on public roads without having a route planning excersize first to avoid speed bumps & some to keep the IVA man happy

Not my cup of tea, but infinitely preferable to the 'lookalike' kits.

I would have thought that small wheels with a taller profile would look more realistic - something like 13" with fat avon tyres like various Caterhams.
Have you fitted any?

I think that looks great Russ.

Nice to see these still being made and getting better with each one. Still seems strange that it can be made road legal.

Would love a blast in one thumbup

Not mad keen on the red bull graphics, but otherwise, it looks like epic fun! Can't see why people would dislike it... there are much, much, much worse readers cars that get credit!
