Hi,
I am trying to locate clear lights at a reasonable price. Any ideas?
Dealer prices are silly although I have heard they occasionally pop up on special offer?
And is it true that the car needs a software update too? (MY07)

Thanks

Hi Tony, will they work without programming? Ie just throws up errors, or does it not work at all until programmed?

They will work, there will just be a 'bulb out' warning on the dash - the new lights are LED, the car needs to be told there are now LEDs there rather than bulbs.

Interesting.. The old lights look like they are LED's too, except maybe the reverse light. Maybe I'm mistaken..

You're not. Yeti is!

There is a software update required for the earlier cars to get the clear lights to work. Sorry, can't remember if your MY is OK

So you can't remember whether I'm right or wrong? Interesting...

If your rears are already LED, then you don;t need the reflash. Obviously wink

Thanks Neil, Lewis. I have sent the question across to Bamford Rose. Although might be a good idea to stay away for awhile. Might end up going in for clear lights and leaving with Yeti's 6.5L conversion biggrin

Depends what car you have. IIRC, the earlier model DB9's need a software update, otherwise the indicators will flash on a different interval, but I think most of the later cars are plug & play. Mike will know.

smileI can remember that you are wrong. All are LED's. Earlier ones need a software update for what was known at the time as DBS rear lights.
Have clears on now and took the original red (LED!) off the car. Still have them at home if you want to check they are LED!

Ah I see - yes you're right, pretty sure all are LEDs - however, the reflash is to tell the car not to display a 'bulb-out' warning when switching. Bulbs or not!

Of course I'm right! wink May know a little about electronics.
Later cars don't need a reflash, but that the bit I can't remember for the OP - which year you stopped needing the reflash.

They have the other side one too (I am not connected to them). No reflash needed on a 2007.

Darn... Just realised there is vat and delivery on top and it makes it only a £110 less than I was quote by main dealer fitted!
Was worth a try though! Cheers
