The Power, Beauty and Soul tour arrived in our country this weekend, and three special Astons were shown:
- V12 Vantage Zagato
- V12 Vantage Roadster
- V12 Vanquish II

The V12 Vanquish II was shown in Hammerhead Silver with very nice Chancellor Red interior and many carbon options (roof, mirrors, ).

Nice, I like it more every time I see it. And it has the aluminium seat controls at last smile

I still can't really believe a room full of poncy marketing bell-ends couldn't come up with a better name than 'Vanquish' again. Which is a fantastic name for a fantastic car... just not this one.

I think I'm the opposite. I'm liking it less and less every time I see it.

I think the interior is a massive step backwards every time I see a picture of it, but I guess they've only changed it just because otherwise people, would whinge that it's the same as the car it replaced rolleyes

Same here. While I'm getting used to the exterior the more I see it, I still don't like the interior. It just looks too much like any other car; not particularly special looking, especially the door handles which are now molded into the door cards. The metal bars were much more unique. The outboard dash vents are also not a good match for those in the center.

If you are referring to the door handles, they are indeed metal (at least on the DB9).

And if you're referring to the seat controls - they are brushed metal in the Virage...

there is an option for CF door handles in the new Vanquish - assume interior although it's not clear on the form - £1,000 !

I really don't get why people don't like the interior. Remember it's endlessly configurable - change the stitching, change the colour of the top and lower rolls, match the wheel and so on.

It makes the current interiors look dated... classic, but dated.

I think it actually makes the current interiors look unique and makes me appriciate how much
I love mine The AM310quish looks too generic. Like I said before, I think they've only changed it because they had to otherwise people would whinge.

I think the answer is that in some colours, particularly in photos, the new interior looks a little more generic, particularly elements of the door cards and the central storage area/armrest. Whereas when you sit in new Vanquish, you tend to only concentrate on how modern the centre console now looks

I think you've mentioned in another thread that the chassis is perhaps the only class leading/equal element of the latest Astons but I think elements of the new centre console and the ceramic brakes can be added to the list

I particularly don't like the look of new Vanquish seats though, which don't as yet have a sports option. They don't have a sufficiently sculpted look for a sportscar IMO.

You could be right - i think they are currently an exercise in design and stitching and are a bit 'pre-production'.

Yes, you're spot on with brakes being class leading, they're jounalistically the favourite CCMs of any brand!

Really like this 2nd picture. I've not really bought into the rear, but from this angle, looks great!

This specific car had most of the Carbon options (roof, but also side wings, as well as the door handles, see first pic). Not my cup of tea, but you can choose.

About the interior in real life: the design is nice, but the touch and feel is less than of previous cars (at least my DBS, which I drove before and after sitting in the new Vqs). Especially the touch panel: it looks amazing, but when you touch it, it has a strange feel, especially when the "force feed back vibration" is on, it feels like some electronic devices from the nineties.....I hope this will be improved in production versions).

I have been invited to drive the New Vanquish on Tuesday next week biggrin

Interestingly, I will get my V12V BR Edition back the same day, so I will write a little report all being good.

I've sat in it and you are wrong, George. The new interior is lovely.
