Hi chaps,

My TT seat is acting up, has always worked fine then yesterday i found that the part under your knees, ie the front of the seat wont raise and lower as it normally does (in a sort of tilting fashion)

Everything else works fine and when I try to work this i can hear the switch clicking but nothing happens.

Nothing obviously jammed in there.

Open to suggestions, dont much fancy being fleeced by opc!

Mine went in for some work, whilst fiddling they found some of the underseat wires had broken, might be a weak point?

It is on 993s (although God forbid 993s actually have a "weak" point - let's just call it an "area of lesser strength" shall we? hehe)

Hate to say it, but it sounds like one of the gears may have gone. Had a similar problem with my Z4. If it's a common problem then you may be able to buy one. If not, or if it is hideously expensive, this could be another option...
BMW Electric Seat Gear Fix Plastic Casting Result

I made the first gear too brittle so it did break again, but a softer plastic should do the trick.

Not if you can hear the clicking when you press it.

Yes, if it's mine the ear will be turning a little and the clicking is when it jams. If nothing else, you can unbolt the motor from the seat frame, set the seat to the height you want and then bolt the motor back in again to lock it in place.
