POTW: McLaren MP4-12C Spider

Chris Harris, an empty race track and a McLaren MP4-12C Spider - well, what did you think would happen?

Given all the (rather unexpected) excitement over the Dacia Sandero this week we could as well have chosen a shot of that for POTW. But we didn't.

Popular, yes, but not quite POTW material

No, we thought we'd stick with what we know for now and present Chris Harris giving the McLaren MP4-12C Spider a thorough shakedown in his own inimitable style. Once we get him in a Sandero we'll perhaps have another POTW for you but, for now, here he is in the Spider. And, yes, that's a GoPro mounted on the car. Expect a video very soon...

The angle of the wheels tells me that this car is skidding and out of control which seems a bit odd.

I think i have seen someone inadvertantly do something similar on the road before and an innocent bystander called the police and he got put in prison. Another friend tried it on track once as well, clearways at brands, and he got chucked off the circuit and sent home. wink

It's called predictably boring. Yawn. Why not try to shred the tyres per Clarkson. Yawn. Much rather see the car being crisply taken through some real world challenging roads by a driver who manages the power with the available grip. But then that would be about driving a sports car not playing the Chav.
