I posted this in engines but may be better in here? Optimistic, but is there a site/document which lists the sizes of throttle bodies and injector spec for recent motorbikes?

Following on - does anyone know the size of the bodies on a GSXR750?

I'm looking for something 45-50mm most likely.

Don't know about any sites listing injection spec but I believe the 1998 GSXR-750 used Mikuni Injectors/Denso ECU with 46mm throttle bodies.

From 2000 they used the same kit but got more complicated by having 2 sets of butterfly valves in the throttle body, where the rider directly opens the first and the ECU operates the second progressively to keep the intake velocity high, probably 'cos the 46mm bodies are too big at low RPM (low intake velocity) but work well at high RPM

That's fantastic thanks.

Basically I'm looking to fabricate some sort of manifold to fit them to 2L 4cyl VW engine, I might be able to use a carb manifold already made up.

The earlier ones look like the ones to use then unless the standalone will look after the trickery in the later ones.

Do you kno if these are a straight 46mm (cos if they are that's even better for me) cos I understand the GSXR1000 bodies are 52mm tapering down to 42mm at the plate?

Interesting, certainly should be an improvement on the standard setup.

Don't know about taper etc. but have you seen "Honda-tech.com", some guy has fitted GSXR Throttle bodies to a civic? might be of interest.

Best of luck, would be interested to hear how you get on.

Not seen Honda-tech before but registered and posted a few Q's. It's not that groundbreaking but I can't afford to be wasting money buying the wrong parts because the whole point of doing it this way is to be cheaper than a packaged kit.

I'll certainly post back as it gets going but don't hold your breath on anything soon cos I like to take my time and store bits in the garage for an eternity first (roll cage gathering dust for a year now in the garage).

I hope to get ~200 maybe up to 215 ish bhp, 160+ lbft but more importantly a wide and flexible range, ~7k rpm ish peak no VTEC step, basically the same shape linear plot I have now but further up the scale.

After a bit more digging I think that the 46mm Mikuni jobs you mention above are from a Hayabusa and also on 2004 GSXR750/1000

The GSXR750/1000 bodies are the same. Up to 1999, but not sure from which start but maybe from 1996, they are 48mm at opening and taper down to 40mm (44mm across the wider part where the injector leads in). 2000 on they are 52mm taper down to 42mm.
