I have been trying to correct the front/rear brake bias on my Tamora (main discussion in T-forum) and that has included swapping the standard proportioning valve for an AP Racing adjustable valve.

Results are still mixed, and I am very keen to find out the specification of the standard valve to see how that fits in the adjustable range of the AP valve.

The TVR Part number is J0744 and Track V Road found the Ford Part Number, 7117274. My local Ford dealer could find it on his system, but had no technical data.

Ford customer service responded to my e-mail with a letter which said they couldn't help as it wasn't a Ford vehicle and I should go and ask my manufacturer. I am trying again with them.

Does anybody have any ideas on how I could find the specification of the valve?

Thanks

Would they help if you were able to quote a Ford model that you know uses p/n 7117274?

A Google search threw up this post "I researched the little inline reducing valves that came with my mk5 master cylinder and they have purple rings on them and this identified them to be finis 7117274 and after cross referencing them on microcat these are the standard reducing valves for Fiesta 95- Ford Escort 95- Ka 97- Puma 97-2001 and Focus 98- " in this thread http://passionford.com/forum/ford-fiesta-rs1800-an....

Also there are a few Ford models using p/n 7117274 in this link http://www.forddirectparts.co.uk/brake-pressure-re....

I had seen that page with the list of models when doing some research online. If my second attempt fails I will try your advice with a different car, name and email address and see if that gets me further.

I an hoping the email I sent today reaches someone more helpful.
