Did anybody of you fit other belts than the Willians provided from the factory?

For optical reasons, I would like to have wider belts, for example from Schroth.

I fitted 6 point Sabelt 3 inch straps ('Caterfield' length), the seats are really made for 2 inch belts as my belts do 'fold' slightly going through the seat slots at the top, I find them comfortable though.

Wider than the Willans 3" that the factory can supply (in a number of different colours)??

I use the Schroth Profi II-FE asm, 3" shoulder belts, 2" lap belts.

Shoulder belts including adjuster were way to long, Schroth shortened them and removed the adjuster for me.

I had 3" Sabelts in the GTR and 2" Willans in the Can-Am.

Whilst aesthetically the 3" belts look good (a bit more 'track'), the 2" belts were more comfortable (for me).

One thing I would go for would be 'pull up' adjustable lap straps instead of pull down. Just me.

Graham is absoultley correct about the adjusters, no room to pull down. I have Sparcos 3 inch laps and 2 inch shoulder belts with 2ea, 2 inch sub belts. Make very sure to install the sub belt correctly as we all saw last year in a photo here, incorrect sub belt mounting can lead to ugly things. Also if you have the chance to get a cam over lever design where the belt is pulled tighter as it is swung into the locked posistion you may find it easier to live with then a plug in design. Lee

I had Schroth with pull up straps in my Exige I will be doing the same for my Ultima.
3" shoulder straps with 2" lap straps, 2" lap strap is supposedly better as when adjusted correctly it sits in the iliac crest (pelvic bone),this has two benefits, 1,it is more comfortable and 2, it prevents bruising across the "crest" or raised bumps of your pelvis in a collision, this is beacause a 3" belt rides up and covers part of the crest area.
I found Schroth belts really easy to adjust in a hurry.
If you are feeling rich they do an endurance harness which is even easier to adjust.

Totally agree pull up lap straps would be brilliant. Can they be bought to fit Ultima. My radical has them so I guess so

The factory were selling them last year but apparently no one was interested.
I was told it is the short strap version ??

er did they think of telling any of their existing customers? New owners might not realise the hassle involved!

To be fair they advertised 6 point (still on the parts update in the stickies) which don't appear to have the so called "zip" adjusters, mind you @ £280.00 per car set they were a bargain!

OH yes! but the all important point of 'pull up to adjust lap belts' is missing

It's worth speaking to the factory chaps.... My silver / grey 3" Willans harnesses have the all important pull-up lap and then pull down belts (so all belts tighten towards the buckle) and they came from the factory smile

Thanks to all of you for the info smile

I will speak to the factory if they sell 3" belts - they didn't when I ordered the kit earlier this year.

So you can get the belts from the factory (3" shoulder straps and 2" lap straps in black, blue, red, silver or green, the straps all tighten towards the buckle) for £320 plus VAT as I learned today smile

How comes they show Schroth belts in the "upgrades"? Are they only available as an option and Willans as standard proposal?
