I'm stuck somewhere for a while with no roof for the 996 tt - need a car cover that will:

1/ keep the bloody bird poo off (and that's LOTS of bird poo).
2/ not wreck the paintwork in strong winds (and that's VERY strong winds).
3/ keep the rain off (and that's BIBLICAL rain).

Your best suggestions welcome.

Thanks in advance.

My RS is outside all year round in a Covercraft 'Weathershield'. Cost £310. No complaints except in strong winds you might need extra tie down front and back - easily done. Very light and compact. Mention 'Piers at Richbrook' and you should get a bit off the £310!

My 996 lives outside under a custom fit Covercraft Noah which I ordered from the States for £132, that's about half price."wwwcarcoverworld.com" It comes with a plastic coated wire and padlock for security and it's own storage bag, delivery was about 2-3 weeks.

Yep, Villageidiot makes a good point. With shipping, import duty and VAT, I reckon the Weathershield is down to around £230 direct from US site!

My 355 sits under a WebFlex cover from these people - each cover is a custom fit for your car, fits snugly, and no amount of wind will cause it to come off / make it flap around and therefore damage the paintwork - the bottom is elasticated at the front and back and it has numerous ties that go underneath the car. Mine was circa £250

Inspired by this and related posts I ordered a Covercraft Noah from USA for the 944. It arrived last week and on top of the total of $234 (including a rather steep $80 for carriage) I was charged £33 for VAT and handling when it arrived in UK after 4 weeks. Still only around £165 total so I feel happy. Too early to say how good it is as a product but it fits very well and I'd happily do it again (and am considering buying two more unless someone has a cheap barn for sale in Hertfordshire).
Guy.
