Thanks Steve
no problem, totally understand, no after naming and shaming as such, just peoples genuine experiences if they have bought cars from this company, so difficult to know who to 'trust' when looking at cars at these values, and this specialised!
No worries - they look like a good outfit.no problem, totally understand, no after naming and shaming as such, just peoples genuine experiences if they have bought cars from this company, so difficult to know who to 'trust' when looking at cars at these values, and this specialised!
However if you want a cast iron warranty then someone like RSJ would be better placed....i'm also dubious about '2 year five star warranties' as they seem to be underwritten by the likes of warranty wise who get mixed reviews...might be worth asking them about kind of things it will cover (e.g. Bore scoring, cylinder 6 failure, ims)
I haven't bought from them, but I have spoken to them when they contacted me about a Lotus Elan I was selling about 5 years ago. I was also selling my lovely 107 Merc SL, but they were not interested in that at any price because it had done over 100k. The lotus was low mileage and they were keen, but it was already in the process of being sold and they were too late. In truth the Merc was a better example of model and spec, half the price and did sell a few days later, but they knew their customer base and the number on the odometer was too high, that seemed their primary concern. When I've seen cars for sale by them that I am interested in (they've had a few Turbos recently), I've noted the low mileage but also noted the slightly high prices, but like I say they know their customer base.
I've also purchased from Chappell Sports Cars. Kier nows the marque back to front and the level of preparation on the cars is the best i've seen at a Porsche specialist TBH but obviously there's a cost attached to thorough preparation.
I do pop in the showroom now and again and i've yet to see a poor car in there.
