Guy jammed on the brakes and slowed to around 30mph, presuably at the time he saw the camera. What was the speed limit? 30? NSL?

NSL I think, if it's the road past Willingham Woods.

Why am I not surprised it's a prickmobile driver?

Yeah, I was thinking the overtake wasn't _that_ bad. Who hasn't done a speed starting with a 1- when overtaking.

However, he wasn't overtaking just one vehicle, he was overtaking multiple vehicles which anybody could see were learners.

There were pedestrians/children on the verge to his right.

Locking the brakes shows poor control. Suprised it is even possible to generate that much smoke while braking, did he have ABS switched off?

Both of those would (learners, pedestrians on verge) be cause for me personally to either make the overtake a no-go or do it at much lower speeds. As they say, power is nothing without control and you don't have to give it 100% on each overtake.

LOL, nothing brings attention to yourself and says "oh st a speed camera" like a cloud of tyre smoke from four locked wheels.

He got a 6-month ban. Anyone wanna guess what ban he would have got without the smoke?

or if that was a biker over taking learner drivers doing 113MPH? Wonder if the ban would have be "highter" or "Lower"

Higher. Much higher.

We all probably remember this biker banned for 12 months and 200 hours community service for a much less serious case IMO.

+1 - If he hadn't anchored up stupidly hard for the scamera van, I see nothing wrong with that. Plenty of space, straight road, no pedestrians etc. Probably the only overtaking opportunity for a while, so shock horror, they bung a speed trap there.

Certainly nothing that warrants a 6 month ban, but that's the society we live in these days I guess.

A group of learners that size is a bit much - OK probably no longer than 2 artics but surely it would have been a bit more considerate and to run as 2 or three groups.

The bloke with the Porsche had the performance & used it, would he be slagged off if he was doing the same overtake on a Blackbird or Fireblade?

Should he have gone past them really slowly? Spending more time alongside them? Surely best to get past them as quickly as possible.

Agreed - blasted by, plenty of space. Non-story about a very unlucky bloke who over-reacted a bit to a scamera and was caught on film.

I think you need to work on your observation wink

113mph is a lot though. It's rare I get over 90mph on the speedo (so maybe 84mph true speed) on overtakes and I'm not shy about overtaking. So that suggests to me the overtake was a bit duff and he used more speed than necessary had he planned it better. 113 is a lot on a single carriageway with other traffic on it.

TBH if it's the road I think it is then he is a bellend for overtaking there. It's a safe place to overtake but it's ALWAYS got scamera vans on it because of the bike meet at Willingham Woods.

They were a long way from the carriageway and it's hard to see where they were relative to the bikes during the overtake from that video.
