Where's the Engine Number on a Eunos Roadster?

I've had a good look all round the engine bay, but there's no sign of one...
The handbook says it's just behind the exhaust manifold, but the handbook is for the UK model. I'd assume that as they were all made in the same factory the plate would be in the same place..
Or do the Japanese just not have engine numbers?

I believe there are two different places depending on engine size. Something like back right on one size and front left on the other. I'll go and look in the handbook...
Just checked, bear in mind this is for a mk2.5
Looking at the front of the engine the B6 engine has it on a flange at the rear left of the engine.
The BP engine is on a flange at the rear right.

Very difficult to see for two reasons:1. The cylinder head casting is wider than the block
2. The numbers are difficult to read as they are not stamped very deep and soon fill up with filth and corrosion.
Still not perfectly visible on my engine even with the bare block out of the car and cleaned up with abrasive paper:
