It's chassis number 19843 - there's a fairly well circulated photo of him with it, where the reg plate is 'OTS719R'.

The plate was changed to '308WHT' in mid 1984. Colour changed to yellow in 2006.

Last owner had it for 22 years; was exported in April 2013.

Such a great talent; such a tragic end.

I saw him drumming for Brian May's solo tour when I was 13. It was the first proper gig I'd been to, and it's probably a toss up between him and Neil Peart for the best drum solo I've seen live.

Can't help with the Ferrari, but thanks for bringing up a good memory of my teenage years. :-)

On a related and sad note my good friend, fellow musician and petrolhead Michael Caswell was the guitarist on that tour. Mike was a stunning musician and loved his cars-he ran a couple of Saab's Carlsson's (perhaps Cozy's influence?) and a Merc V8 convertible-but his life was tragically cut short in a swimming accident a couple of weeks ago. He always spoke fondly of his time working of working with Cozy. RIP Mike.

Big fan of Cozy's work, from the early 1970's..great drummer.

Seen him live loads of time.

Unfortunately, (according to reports at the time) his death was avoidable, driving at over 100mph in very poor weather, over the DD limit and on his mobile phone into the bargain.

Plus no seat belt whilst driving a convertible SAAB, IIRC.

Rainbow Rising is still my favourite studio album.

Wikipedia says a SAAB 9000 ,which wouldn't be a convertible but wiki entry could be wrong.

It was written in the press reports that I read at the time that he was driving a convertible. Their accuracy may be equally wrong, though. I don't remember any photos of the car being published.

I recall it was also reported in the press that the person he was speaking to on his mobile was his poor girlfriend.
