I looove my 993 and can't help but chav it up a little to make her more my own.

This includes RSR silencers and go faster chav style large tailpipes. The wife now thinks my dear old 911 sounds like a tractor though. frown

Anyway. I have the idea of fitting a chin spoiler to me 911. If theres one small area where I think the 993 doesnt seem quite right, its the rounded narrow front of the car. So I'm thinking spend spend spend on 'updating' her.

A few questions:

I like the Rennsport Front Spoiler for 993 cars sold by Gert at Carnewall, but I'm sure that there is a different one which was OE sold, maybe part of a 993 aerokit. Is this correct? I'm sure I've seen a pic of a 993 with a front splitter with more of a pronounced 'lip' to the side edges of it.

The other thing I need to know is, can you fit just a front splitter/spoiler thingy or do you have to then install the fixed wing on the back ..... just like you used to have to do with older 911s to balance everything.

Any excuse to post a pic...

993C2 with 'small' aero kit...

there was a more pronounced front splitter for the big aero kit as fitted to the GT2's..

TBH if you only had the front of either it'd look odd.. and then if you have the rear you have to also have the side skirts.. how good's your man maths???

Man maths, yeah I see where your coming from. scratchchin

So (because I'm thick) is yours an Areokit or the RS version. Or are they indeed the same? Confused because Gert lists two.

As far as I can work out there were two options available for the 993RS they were the little aero kit as I have got and the big one which may be called the GT because it was fitted to the GT2 like the silver one...

On the carnewal site mine would be under 'exterior' and rennsport rear spoiler / rennsport front spoiler and rennsport side skirts

The items listed in the 'aerokit' section describes a spoiler with an integrated 3rd brake light which sounds like a US spec thing???
The chin and rear spoilers on the silver car are in the same section marked up as GT2 items...

There are various OE aerokits you could spec at the time, on top of the two RS kits above.

I'll see if I can find a good link as we talked about this on 911uk a while back.

Have you thought about simply swopping the front PU for a WB type?

Saves all of the front/back unbalanced worries.

ETA here is one thread..... http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=57970
